Inter Aide is currently carrying out 4 programs in Sierra Leone in the following fields:

• WASH program: Building and rehabilitating wells, promoting the chlorination of home water, developing networks for the maintenance of water points thanks to hand pump mechanics and networks of dealers in spare parts. These three programs are completed by hygiene and sanitation awareness activities.
• Agriculture : supporting family farming and production lines.

In 2021, 36,051 families were supported by these actions.

The interventions started in 2007 around the small town of Kamakwie in the north of the country. The water point maintenance service networks were structured in the area to cover the Bombali and Karene districts. They gradually expanded to the neighboring districts of Tonkolili in 2017 and Port-Loko in 2019.

The partners of our actions are mainly represented by the institutions: the “MAFFS” (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security), the “MWR” (Ministry of Water Resources) and its local representations, the Water Directorates, as well as newly set up Organizations of Producers and local and traditional authorities, in particular the District Councils.
