This is used to track improvements in behaviours (e.g. increased latrine coverage, additional women using long term family planning etc). We also use qualitative monitoring and patient satisfaction surveys to track improvements in government\u00a0<a title=\"Health System Activities\" href=\"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/strategy\/health-system-activities-2\/\">health services<\/a>. For further details see the\u00a0<a title=\"M&amp;E Plan\" href=\"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/documents\/\" target=\"_blank\">Monitoring &amp; Evaluation Plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Evaluation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The long term impact of the programs will be measured\u00a0using independent baseline and endline surveys. These surveys will be conducted 3 years apart. The surveys measure a range of indicators matched to the national\u00a0<a title=\"National Statistics Office Malawi\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nsomalawi.mw\/publications\/malawi-demographic-and-health-survey.html\" target=\"_blank\">Malawi Demographic and\u00a0Health Surveys<\/a>. This includes health knowledge, attitudes, practices and mortality rates. For the full methodology see the\u00a0<a title=\"Documents\" href=\"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/documents\/\">Baseline Survey Reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h1>Key\u00a0Indicators<\/h1>\n<p>To\u00a0assess\u00a0the ongoing impact of the Child Health Programs, a set of key indicators are selected and monitored throughout the duration of the program.
