We are measuring the results of the programs in two ways:<\/p>\n

Monitoring<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Monitoring of short term changes\u00a0is done using house-by-house follow up visits after each\u00a0community activity<\/a>. This is used to track improvements in behaviours (e.g. increased latrine coverage, additional women using long term family planning etc). We also use qualitative monitoring and patient satisfaction surveys to track improvements in government\u00a0health services<\/a>. For further details see the\u00a0Monitoring & Evaluation Plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Evaluation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The long term impact of the programs will be measured\u00a0using independent baseline and endline surveys. These surveys will be conducted 3 years apart. The surveys measure a range of indicators matched to the national\u00a0Malawi Demographic and\u00a0Health Surveys<\/a>. This includes health knowledge, attitudes, practices and mortality rates. Key\u00a0Indicators<\/h1>\n

To\u00a0assess\u00a0the ongoing impact of the Child Health Programs, a set of key indicators are selected and monitored throughout the duration of the program. Indicators are selected in each program based upon the key health issues identified in the Baseline Survey.<\/p>\n
