This is the first major activity in the new catchment area of Nambazo Health Centre and will be used to identify the key health issues within the region.<\/p>\n<p>The baseline survey was initially delayed by flooding in the region which caused severe damage to houses and roads (below), displacing many people.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/house-flooded.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-232 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/house-flooded-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"house flooded\" width=\"398\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/house-flooded-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/house-flooded.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The survey covered 1000 households in total: 500 within the catchment area of Nambazo Health Centre and 250 in 2 other\u00a0regions within Phalombe District that will be used as control areas.
