{"id":22,"date":"2014-08-31T08:23:36","date_gmt":"2014-08-31T08:23:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/?page_id=22"},"modified":"2017-09-11T11:54:17","modified_gmt":"2017-09-11T11:54:17","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Our Program<\/h1>\n<p>Inter Aide Child Health Programs are joint initiatives between Inter Aide, the Ministry of Health and Traditional Authorities.\u00a0The program operates in two regions of Malawi: <a title=\"Southern Region\" href=\"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/location\/sr-location\/\">Phalombe District<\/a> in Southern Region and <a title=\"Central Region\" href=\"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/location\/cr-location\/\">Lilongwe District<\/a> in Central Region.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Our goal is to reduce the number of children under five years old, including neonates, who get sick or die from preventable diseases.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">We plan to achieve this goal by increasing early diagnosis and treatment for common diseases, promoting prevention\u00a0behaviours and improving maternity\u00a0and family planning services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Our <a href=\"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/strategy\/context-approach\/\">approach<\/a> focuses on working closely with <a href=\"http:\/\/interaide.org\/health\/malawi\/strategy\/community-activities-2\/\">local communities<\/a>\u00a0by utilising and supporting existing structures, such as village health committees and traditional authorities, to promote and embed behaviours that improve the health of under-5 children.
